Long exposure

This photo combines some different elements to make a successful photo.  The most important elements are the rocks in the foreground, and the bridge dominated cityscape in the background. In this photo no filter was needed, simply waiting for the light to fade to allow the long exposure was all that was needed. At 20 seconds the ocean became flat, and you see that wonderful misty effect around the rocks.

Digital blending

The top half of this photo while taken at the same scene, is a bracketed photo taken to expose for the sunset sky. This second photo has then been blended into the bottom portion of this photo. This is achieved in photoshop using luminosity masks, and layer masking.

This impressive structure stretches over 7km in length, and overlooks the Gwangan beach area. Construction of the bridge began in the 1990's and was finished in 2002.
